Campus Explorer is a 3D, fully interactive virtual campus which is operated over the internet. It acts as an online prospectus, displayed in an immersive format which promotes the university grounds, facilities and courses.
The format appeals directly to the playstation generation providing a fun and informative way of attracting potential students and also as a reference to existing students and new staff. It draws attention to new structures on campus and also any architectural heritage which you wish to highlight.

In brief Campus Explorer groups all your information together in one place then displays it in a visually stimulating, cutting edge format targeted directly at new students, replacing basic 2D maps and external links.
As they explore the spaces, information relating to courses and building facilities are displayed by clicking the buildings ensuring the University is represented in the most informative and innovative way possible.
Campus Explorer is constructed from a series of individual files which interchange within a single main interface. As the user passes through a series of portals the separate files are loaded up. These are no larger then 1mb each so this passage is seamless on all broadband equipped machines.
As you navigate the campus "virtual students" are located near each building. When clicked upon they provide information relating to the building and events which may be of interest to the user. These actions are also updatable via the content management feature.
